About Roots Chiropractic

Our Mission

At Roots Chiropractic, our mission is to redefine the chiropractic experience empowering our community to heal, move, and live fully by getting to the root cause of symptoms.
We believe true health goes beyond temporary relief — it’s about restoring balance, enhancing performance, and cultivating long-term vitality.

Through personalized care, we empower our patients to take an active role in their health journey. Our goal is to create a foundation of wellness that allows every individual to move, feel, and live at their highest potential.

MEET THE DOCTOR

Dr. Rachael is devoted to helping individuals reconnect with the roots of their health, addressing the deeper causes of imbalance rather than just the symptoms. Through chiropractic care, she guides each person toward functional fitness goals, improved mobility and lasting vitality. Just as roots anchor and nourish growth, a strong foundation in health allows us to truly flourish.

Dr. Rachael was honored as her high school’s Female Athlete of the Year before continuing her career at Penn State University. As a lifelong athlete, she understands firsthand the physical and mental demands that come with training, competing, and striving for optimal performance. Years of experience on and off the court and field have given her a deep appreciation for how crucial a healthy nervous system is—not just for recovery and movement, but for focus, strength, and overall wellbeing.

This passion for performance and function is what inspired her to create Roots Chiropractic: a space dedicated to helping athletes, families, and kids move and feel their best by addressing the root cause of dysfunction rather than chasing symptoms.

Chiropractic care often involves two primary methods of spinal and joint adjustment: manual and instrument-assisted techniques. Manual adjustments are performed by hand, using precise, controlled movements to restore proper joint alignment, improve mobility, and reduce pain. This approach allows the chiropractor to feel restrictions and tailor the force and direction of the adjustment to the patient’s needs. Instrument-assisted adjustments, on the other hand, use specialized tools—like the Activator or similar devices—to deliver a gentle, targeted impulse to specific joints. These are often preferred for patients who require a lighter touch, have heightened sensitivity, or need adjustments in hard-to-reach areas. Both methods aim to optimize spinal function, relieve discomfort, and support overall musculoskeletal health.

Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) is a chiropractic technique that uses specialized tools to detect and treat soft tissue restrictions, such as tight muscles, scar tissue, or fascial adhesions. By gliding these instruments over the skin with controlled pressure, chiropractors can stimulate blood flow, promote tissue healing, and break down fibrotic or scarred areas. IASTM is particularly effective for improving range of motion, reducing pain, and supporting recovery from injuries. It is often combined with chiropractic adjustments and rehabilitative exercises to enhance overall musculoskeletal function and accelerate the body’s natural healing processes.

This technique has roots in traditional Chinese, Middle Eastern, and Eastern European medicine, and it is often used to promote healing, reduce pain, and improve circulation. The suction draws the skin and superficial muscles upward, which can help to increase blood flow, release muscle tension, and stimulate the body’s natural healing processes.

Compression boots are a popular choice for individuals seeking relief from leg fatigue, poor circulation, and muscle soreness. These devices utilize air compression technology to massage the feet, calves, knees, and thighs, simulating the effects of a manual massage. They are particularly beneficial for athletes, office workers, travelers, and the elderly.

Benefits:

Improved Circulation: Regular use can help stimulate blood flow, which is beneficial for individuals with poor circulation or those recovering from surgery.
Muscle Recovery: Athletes and active individuals can use the boots to reduce muscle soreness and speed up recovery after intense workouts.

Pain Relief: The massage action can help alleviate pain associated with conditions like plantar fasciitis, varicose veins, and restless leg syndrome.

Perinatal and Pediatric Care

Webster Certified & Experienced in Perinatal Chiropractic Care

As a Webster Certified chiropractor, Dr. Rachael specializes in supporting women throughout pregnancy by promoting balance within the pelvis and nervous system. This gentle and specific technique helps optimize pelvic positioning and reduce discomfort for a smoother birth experience.

With advanced training and hands-on experience in perinatal care, Roots Chiropractic is committed to helping expectant mothers feel empowered, aligned, and confident throughout every stage of pregnancy and postpartum recovery.

Pediatric Care & Early Development

Our passion for pediatric chiropractic care stems from the belief that a healthy nervous system lays the foundation for a child’s lifelong growth and development. Gentle adjustments help support proper spinal alignment and nervous system function—key factors in meeting important developmental milestones such as crawling, walking, and coordination.

By addressing tension and imbalances early, we aim to give every child the best possible start in life, helping them grow strong, resilient, and ready to thrive.
